Dubai Supreme Council of Energy Reinforces Commitment to Net Zero Carbon Goals

The Dubai Supreme Council of Energy (DSCE) held its 90th meeting virtually, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Council. The session brought together key energy leaders and policymakers, including His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the DSCE; His Excellency Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the Council; and several board members representing leading entities such as Dubai Municipality, Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Dubai Petroleum, Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP), and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

The meeting focused on the emirate’s ongoing efforts to monitor and reduce carbon emissions in alignment with the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050. Among the notable outcomes was the approval of the Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory 2024, which provides an updated and transparent assessment of emissions across sectors. The council also confirmed the winners of the 2025 Emirates Energy Award, which recognizes outstanding regional initiatives in renewable energy, sustainability, and energy efficiency.

His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer reaffirmed Dubai’s vision to strengthen its position as a global leader in clean energy and sustainable development. He emphasized that the emirate’s ambitious targets are guided by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai. “We are committed to pioneering initiatives that drive innovation in the energy sector, boost efficiency, and consolidate Dubai’s role as a hub for sustainable investment. Our objective is to achieve the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, ensuring that 100% of the emirate’s energy production capacity comes from clean sources by 2050,” Al Tayer said.

He further noted that the council continues to prioritize the adoption of advanced technologies and best practices to maximize resource efficiency, supporting Dubai’s broader sustainable development goals. These efforts are aligned with both national initiatives and the UAE’s federal sustainability strategies, ensuring that Dubai contributes effectively to the country’s long-term energy transformation.

His Excellency Ahmed Buti Al Muhairbi, Secretary General of the DSCE, highlighted two critical regulatory frameworks that were approved during the meeting. The first, the Safety Policy in Petroleum Products Trade, is designed to guarantee the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental protection within the sector. The second, the Regulatory Framework for Petroleum Products Trade, establishes governance mechanisms to enhance transparency, compliance, and efficiency in petroleum trading across Dubai. Together, these frameworks aim to strengthen Dubai’s regulatory landscape while ensuring sustainable and responsible operations in the energy market.

By advancing these initiatives, the DSCE continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Dubai’s energy future, driving its transition toward clean energy, and reinforcing its global reputation as a leader in sustainability.

How Car to Connect’s Carlift to Jafza Is Greener and Smarter for Dubai

In a city like Dubai, traffic congestion and carbon emissions are constant challenges. At Car to Connect, our Carlift to Jafza service offers a sustainable alternative—moving people, not polluting air.

Our Carlift to Jafza program allows riders to share a ride in one vehicle rather than dozens of single-occupancy cars. Over time, this service reduces total vehicle kilometers traveled, cutting carbon emissions significantly. With each shared carlift, fewer individual cars hit the road, which means lower CO₂ levels across Dubai. That’s the environmental promise behind Carlift to Jafza.

Moreover, traffic congestion eases when more commuters opt for the Carlift to Jafza option. Imagine dozens of cars removed from peak-hour gridlock, replaced by a few well-used lift vehicles. The roads move faster, delays shrink, and stress levels drop. That’s the commuting future we’re building at Car to Connect via Carlift to Jafza.

In addition to being eco-friendly and efficient, Carlift to Jafza is cost-effective. Riders share the cost, so each passenger spends less than in solo trips. Plus, coordinating pick-ups and drop-offs helps streamline routes and reduces wasted fuel. Fewer stop-starts and idling also mean lower emissions per trip—another win for the planet.
